Troopr commands for Jira

Configure Troopr

For Troopr configuration options type /t configure in any Slack channel.

Create Jira issue

/t create [summary] +[fieldName]:[fieldValue]

Create command takes field values in the format shown above.

Example : /t create issue by commands + Issue Type : Bug+ Description : I am creating task with commands + Assignee @krishnapal + Fix versions :fixkp + Affects versions : fixkp

All standard fields except Attachment are supported in this format. Any custom field of the following data types is supported: Date, Labels, Number field, Text field, User Picker, Url field. Fields with split word names are also supported as shown in the example. Note that for Sprint value only Sprint id is supported and not Sprint name. Also please note that the field names are case sensitive, it has to match with the field name in Jira. Update Jira issue

For status update use following command:/t status [key] [statusvalue] Example: /t status TP-100 done

For adding comment to issue: /t comment [key] [comment] Example: /t comment TP-100 made progress on this

For logging time to issue: /t log [time] [key] Example: /t log 1h TP-100

For linking an issue to another: /t link [inwardIssueKey] [linkType] [outwardIssueKey] Example: /t link TP-100 is blocked by ST-1

Show Jira issues in Slack

See the issue listing in any channel by typing /t list or in the Home tab of the "Troopr Assistant" app. By default, you see the issues assigned to you. You can apply any of the available filters. You can update any issue by clicking on the "Take action" button.

You can also filter the issue list by using any custom JQL

Search and Unfurl Jira issues in Slack

You can search for any issue by typing /t find <keyword> in any channel. You can also access the find button in the Home tab of the "Troopr Assistant" app.

In any channel where Troopr is added, Troopr will automatically unfurl any issue mentioned by the issue key or URL. Alternatively, if Troopr is not in the channel you can type /t <issue key> to request a private unfurl.

Troubleshoot Troopr commands



When users are having trouble running Troopr Jira commands, please ensure the following:

  1. User should have verified their Jira account
  2. Users should have permission to create/update issue fields in the Jira project
  3. Issue creation will work only on fields in the create metadata (create screen fields)
  4. Issue update will work only on fields in the edit metadata (edit screen fields)

Troopr commands work with Jira Server, Jira Cloud and Jira Data Center.
