Create Issues in Slack

Customize issue creation behavior

Set issue creation defaults for individual channels

By default, when a user creates a Jira issue using Troopr, the issue creation form will ask the user to select the project and issue type first. However, you can set a default project and issue type for a channel by configuring it in the Troopr web app (app.troopr.io). This helps users to quickly create the issues in the corresponding Slack channels.

Configuring creation defaults

To get started, type the following command in any Slack channel

/t configure

to open the configuration options. Then click on "Channel Defaults" to open the form. Set the Project, Board and Issue type and save the settings for the channel.

You can always update these settings by launching configuration options using /t configure

Set issue creation defaults for all channels (Global Defaults)

By default, when a user creates a Jira issue using Troopr, the issue creation form will ask the user to select the project and issue type first. However, you can set a default project and issue type for everyone in your workspace by configuring it in the Troopr web app (app.troopr.io).

Configuring creation defaults

Login to the Troopr web app and navigate to Troopr Project => Connection page. Look for the section titled "Issue creation behavior".

Set the default project and issue type as shown below.

These creation defaults will be applicable across your Slack workspace. Any issue created in the workspace will be created in the set default project and default issue type. But if there are creation defaults setup in the channel level, then those will override the global defaults.
